B2B ConnectionsOne of the greatest aspects of Chamber membership is the opportunity to network with other businesses that may be in need of our products and services. Our Willowbrook-Burr Ridge Chamber of Commerce and Industry strongly encourages all members to become familiar with our businesses and consider ways to make viable connections. We point to the following members who are taking the lead with Chamber networking: March 2008 B2B Connections
Taking the lead role in our chamber, our directors have made some good B2B connections. We are confident that after the expo our chamber will know more about their fellow members and begin to make more B2B connections. Please see the website at www.wbbrchamber.org for the B2B connections site, where you can fill out some brief information about your chamber Business to Business connection. Russell Smith from Edward Jones Investments visited the new Bonnie Kohout, King-Bruwaert House-Burr Ridge, making a connection with a newer chamber member, Jeff Jacklin owner of EmbroideMe of Villa Park. Bonnie states “For the second consecutive year, King-Bruwaert House in Burr Ridge purchased company-identified clothing for 7 staff members from Jeff Jacklin of EmbroideMe of Villa Park. Our Chamber Expo is a great networking event where it is important for participating businesses to make it easy for members and the public to identify with staff members, products and services. Logo-enhanced clothing creates a consistent image within the business booth. Jeff Jacklin is also great to work with and he maintains a strong interest in customer service.” The new town centers and shopping areas have brought in many new chamber members. For Dr. Glen Batson, connecting with staples was easy, “We have moved our office purchase needs to Staples of Willowbrook. The service is exceptional with friendly and efficient sales reps, and is very conveniently located.” Staples is now fully stocked and ready to serve those of us chamber members in the area.
February 2008 B2B Connections
This past month was very interesting for B2B in the chamber. Our members not only acknowledged businesses and doctors but recognized other helpful people within our chamber. Visit online at www.wbbrchamber.com/b2b and fill in your Business-2-Business form so that we may highlight you are your connections. We will be keeping track of the B2B connections and will be acknowledging those members that do so.
Here is the latest report of the Business-2-Business Connections:
This comes from Keith Sellers from Corporate Massages, Inc. www.corporatemassages.com .
Cheryl helped us get some business before this started. It was earlier in 2007, and I wanted to thank her for that. Even though, she didn't personally use our services, she was looking out for a fellow Chamber member. Thanks for referring us, Cheryl.
Also from Keith Sellers was an experience when dealing with our fine police force.
Here's a B2B connection that most of us don't think of. We did a job for an event company at the Holiday Inn in Willowbrook on Dec. 1st. Just to note, Holiday Inn has no affiliation with this event company. This event company ran up a large tab for our spa services and then gave us a credit card that wasn't good. The event company tried to give us the check's in the mail routine, but thanks to Chief Konstanty’s (Willowbrook Police Dept.) advice, I went in and filed a report with the police dept. Had we not done that, we would have no chance of getting our money. We haven't received payment yet, but the owner of the company, thanks to Det. Altobella has been arrested and charged. Debbie at the police dept. made my children feel comfortable while I filled out the report, and Officer Kasper and her partner were helpful in getting things started. Often, I wondered probably like a lot of the rest of the Chamber members, why are the police at the luncheons and involved in the Chamber. Now, I know why, and I'm very glad they are.
Ginnie Johnson from Commercial Office Interiors recommended my husband see Dr. Glen Batson from Batson Chiropractic for his back pain. In only two visits he’s doing much better.
January 2008 B2B Connections
We hope that the chamber members had a good holiday season and wish everyone a Happy New Year. Even with the busy holiday season the chamber still found time to connect with their fellow members.
Ginnie Johnson from Commercial Office Interiors was able to setup a retirement plan for her company and her husband utilizing the services of Laverne Carlson from Waddell Reed. She also transferred an existing IRA into the “capable hands” of Laverne Carlson. Ginnie was very pleased and said Laverne presents a comprehensive plan that is easy to understand & totally walks you through all the paperwork.
Ginnie also made connections with Dr. Glen Batson from Batson Chiropractic and said that with all he hard work throughout the year he keeps her functioning, she’s a regular patient.
Nancy DeYoung from DeYoung’s Insurance & Brandi & Pals Gourmet hooked up with Steve Watt from S&W Home Improvements to take on an ambitious project of remodeling her kitchen and bathroom. According to Nancy, the project thus far looks absolutely beautiful.
Nancy and Sue DeYoung from Brandi & Pals Gourmet Dog Treats (www.brandiandpals.com) were able to get Lisa Myslinki-Shemroske from Ashton Place to host their nephews wedding shower. Lisa and her staff were top notch as always!
Sue Deyoung from Brandi and Pals Gourmet Dog Treats would like to add that she utilizes Adam Kleyweg from DCM Technology Solutions for his sales expertise in designing computer systems, and his prompt knowledgeable service.

November 2007 Business-to-Business Connections
Dr. Ed Carrie of Family Chiropractic of Burr Ridge searched long and hard to find just the right dentist for his daughter. He made an excellent decision when choosing Drs. Ryan or Todd Molis of Molis Dental in Burr Ridge. His daughter had a very positive experience and family dental visits will be much easier to schedule in the future. Keith Sellers of Corporate Massages, Inc. of Westmont reports a triple connection with Chamber businesses. With Keith and his staff planning the fifth anniversary celebration of their Home Spa Sessions division, they linked up with Eye4Style of Burr Ridge and the Oaks Hotel in Burr Ridge to plan a special jewelry/accessory event with an overnight package for guests. Keith also stayed at the Oaks Hotel after his brother’s wedding in August. “The room was great,” Keith said. “The staff was great in helping us out and very friendly. Jane Hopson does a great job over there.” Chamber President Ron Isdonas of R&R Print-n-Serve of Burr Ridge purchased gift certificates from Zazzo’s Pizzeria in Darien that he used as donations for community groups. Ron stapled his business card to the certificates and offered great gifts as a positive reflection of his business. Just refer to our Chamber’s business directory when in need of home repair or renovation services. Bonnie Kohout of King-Bruwaert House called Dan Feinberg of Berg Roofing in Oak Brook when she needed a new roof for her home. Service was excellent and the clean-up was remarkable. Dan’s expertise was passed down from several generations of relatives who were knowledgeable about the trade. His knowledge and experience supports his well-known family business.
