Administrative Professional's Day

This luncheon honors those dedicated individuals in the office support positions at their companies. Business owners and all office staff members are encouraged to attend. Members businesses are solicited to set up stations which pamper the attendees (i.e., manicures, massages, chocolate fountains) and/or offer products for sale. There is entertainment and/or a speaker.

B2B Business Connections & Table

Committee promotes business-to-business connections for the newsletter. Also promotes opportunity for a networking table at Regular General Meetings.

Business Expo

This committee coordinates the planning and execution of the annual Business Expo that is held every March at Ashton Place. The chairperson is responsible for overseeing the Business Expo in its entirety.

By-Laws Review

This committee does periodic review of the by-laws.

Community & Government Relations

The committee serves as a communication avenue between the Chamber's membership and our villages. Committee members take turns attending village board meetings to observe and report back to the general membership items that may be of business interest to them. The committee, in conjunction with the Villages of Burr Ridge and Willowbrook, publish "Village Updates" in the Chamber monthly newsletter.

 

Cruisin' 66 Fest & Car Show

Committee plans yearly summer fest to promote all Chamber members businesses. The event has a car show used as a draw for residents to attend. Food vendors are also encouraged to participate. 

Directory Buyers Guide

This committee directs and oversees an independent outside vendor in the development and distribution of an annual Willowbrook/Burr Ridge Community Directory. The directory is used to promote our local businesses and services and help the continued economic development of our communities.

Finance & Budget

This committee is set up to review, on a scheduled basis, the finances and budget of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Monthly financial reports are expected from the Treasurer to facilitate workings of the committee.

Giving Tree

Program administering and planning for "giving trees" in member businesses at the holidays benefitting area charitable organizations. Committee organizes businesses hosting trees, making ornaments, gathering toys and clothing etc. for distribution.

Golf Outing

Organizes a one-day golf outing of each year with golf and dinner. The committee is responsible for publicity, prizes, ticket sales and sponsorships, as well as golf and dinner locations. 

Membership / Ambassador

Contacts new and prospective members to explain the benefits of membership in the Willowbrook/Burr Ridge Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The committee is responsible for introducing these new/prospective members at general meetings, and keeping records/file on each one. The committee updates membership packets/information on a regular basis & follows up with new members, explaining committee functions and recruitment of volunteers for committees. Ambassadors introduce new members to other members and site with them at their first general meeting.

Multi-Chamber Liaisons

Committee coordinates and plans events, i.e. programs, meetings, special events with neighboring chambers.

Nominating

This committee presents a slate of Board Members to the membership for approval.

Program

This committee selects programs for the monthly meetings that are of interest to the general membership. The committee members consult with potentional presenters and follow-up with program evaluations. It also coordinates the annual networking session. The program committee is accountable to the Board of Directors to recommend the location of the monthly meetings.

Publicity

This committee is the liaison with area newspapers providing press releases for general meetings including speakers and programs, business after hours, special events sponsored by the Chamber, and prepares publicity on information/events to benefit the businesses and community.

Scholarships

This committee is responsible for awarding scholarships to Hinsdale South High School applicants.

Social

Coordinates all social activities of the Chamber with its primary function to provide the maximum amount of networking opportunities. This includes, but is not limited to, after-hours gatherings at member business locations to showcase member businesses.
